Members of my homebrew club, the Chicago Beer Society, have teamed up with our local Rock Bottom Brewery to brew a Dusseldorf Alt,which they will be tapping tonight at 6pm. Roger Deschner, one of the homebrewers involved, writes in an email,
I'll be there at the corner of Grand and State to sample it and post a review here.A proper altbier as found in the brewpubs of Dusseldorf is normal gravity, copper colored, malty but dry, and quite hoppy. It's a wonderful session beer, that can make you happy that you're drinking alot of beer.
Most people make it wrong - brown, sweet, and strong -yuck!
